‘Grumpy Git’ is a bespoke 54ft semi-traditional liveaboard narrowboat, with steelwork by Soar Valley Steel Boats. The boat has a rear galley, a large spacious saloon area with a dinette fitted, a walk-past bathroom with a double shower and flush toilet fitted, and a master cabin with a fixed 4ft bed and central doors opening onto the front deck area. There are some great storage ideas for a liveaboard, and the woodwork is American white oak, with much solid oak used for the trim and furniture. The boat is heated by a Webasto central heating system, plus a log-burning stove. Grumpy Git is powered by the new HMI Mitsubishi Solé engine, and has a Python Drive fitted. The boat is painted with a hardwearing yacht enamel, and the deck areas are finished in Dek-King. This boat is extremely light and airy, with a very contemporary feel throughout, reflected in the bright exterior paintwork and funky sign-writing!
