Mathilda is one of GWV’s standard designs (Dove Class), and was built as a liveaboard with some additions requested by her owner. This design of boat is semi-traditional, 48ft in length, and was nicknamed ‘The Tardis’ when exhibited at the Crick Boat Show in 2005! Mathilda has a rear open saloon area, which leads to the galley, there is a walk-through bathroom with shower and flush toilet fitted, the cabin has a 4ft 6 bed across the bow of the boat, and access to the bow is via a side exit. The woodwork is American white oak, with much solid oak used for the trim and furniture. The boat is heated by a Webasto central heating system, plus a log-burning stove. Mathilda is powered by a HMI Isuzu 35 engine, and has a Python Drive fitted. The paintwork and sign-writing are contemporary, in a marine paint, and reflect the light and airy feel inside the boat. The boat has a ‘pram cover’ fitted over the rear seating area, providing additional dry storage, and the deck areas are finished in Dek-King. This boat is ideal as a liveaboard or holiday boat, with good storage throughout, and a great feeling of light and space.
